-October 15, 2005 - - - - - - Respectfully submitted by, Deena Holliman Smith, DMD Fri, 14 Oct 2005 09:49:14 -0400 Dr. Phillip E. Rigdon, Sr. -FORT VALLEY - Dr. Phillip E. Rigdon, Sr., 55, devoted father, son, and loving husband, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2005. Services will be held graveside in Oaklawn Cemetery at 4P.M. Friday, October 14, 2005. -Dr. Rigdon was born on September 21, 1950 in Fort Valley, Georgia. He graduated from Fort Valley High School in 1968 and went on to attend the University of Georgia. Dr. Rigdon graduated from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta, Georgia in 1975. He practiced dentistry in Fort Valley for twenty-nine years up until the time of his death. While in the Fort Valley area, he coached little league baseball, football, and basketball. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing with his sons, relatives, and many friends. Dr. Rigdon was an active member of Harmony Community Church, where he faithfully served his Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Clayton Rigdon, Jr. and his stepson J. Kevin Rooks. -Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of eleven years, Beth W. Rigdon, Fort Valley, Georgia; sons, Philip E. Rigdon, Jr., Fort Valley, Georgia and Todd S. Rigdon (Kristi), Warner Robins, Georgia; stepson, Chad S. Rooks, Fort Valley, Georgia; mother Anne S. Rigdon, Fort Valley, Georgia; brother Henry C. Rigdon III (Jo) of Gainesville, Georgia; sister Becky R. Wilder (Tim), Fort Valley, Georgia; brother William B. Rigdon (Karen) of Augusta, Georgia; grandson, Ross R.
